Patent Granted for O2Micro's Battery Pack Monitoring System

GEORGE TOWN, Grand Cayman, Feb. 11, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- O2Micro® International Limited (Nasdaq:OIIM), a global leader in the design, development and marketing of high-performance integrated circuits and solutions, today announced that it was issued 14 claims under United States patent number 8,278,876 for its Battery Pack Current Monitoring system.

O2Micro's patented system monitors battery packs to protect against high current fault conditions, eliminating the typical, more costly current shunt monitoring method.
